August 2021 - Time for a little break
Wellbeing has become an important recognised facet of our general health. There are many different definitions of our wellbeing but certainly most include mental health aspects within this.
The last year has been stressful and challenging for almost everybody and we have seen unprecedented actions within our lifetime. It is a testimony that we have been able to adapt and move forward as a community and there may be some early signs of recovery and the new normal.
During this time it is perhaps an opportunity to recognise that we must look after our well-being and that means taking appropriate breaks and spending time with friends and family. This recharging of the battery allows us to be in the best possible state to face any further challenges and changes over the coming months.
Mental and physical health are no doubt linked and it is not uncommon for one to impact the other. In particular, stresses and strains of everyday life can influence the working of the gastrointestinal system and produce worrying symptoms. It is important to be able to recognise these and where necessary seek medical attention.
If you are concerned with any such symptoms we would be more than happy to provide an expert opinion and allay any fears that you may have.
I hope that you are able to take some time off during this summer..
Take care
